How do we know so early? The web told us.
While America continues to vote, the online world has long since made it clear who they want in the Oval Office. From every corner of the globe, this is how the world has voted. (see map below)
The Economist has a similar world vote map too.
We also double checked the numbers with TwitVote — and it’s a landslide! Of course, there could be some margin for error as (and I find this hard to believe) not everyone uses Twitter.
So now, as we of the world wait to hear the official count from the only country that really does count, we wonder how Obama can be such an obvious choice to everyone in the whole world, but such a mystery to so many Americans.
John Cleese, of Monty Python fame, perhaps has the answer. He believes that American’s (in particular the core Republican base) don’t resent money — they all dream that one day they too might be rich. By they do resent intelligence, grace and sophistication…the very qualities you need in a President:
But until we hear it on Twitter (election coverage here) we won’t really now for sure. In fact, the only source of information I’m watching for this election will be the Twitter feed. It’s the real deal.
